Since the latest update of Monterey and the introduction of Apple’s new Silicon architecture, we have been struggling with Sophos. We began using Sophos in 2017 to protect our devices from malware/viruses. Recently we have seen some performance issues with Sophos on the latest version of macOS. This has prompted us to take a closer look at alternatives.
JAMF Protect is an add-on product offered by JAMF that provides endpoint protection. We already trust JAMF with the management of 1000’s of devices so we decided to give them a closer look. Over the last few weeks we evaluated the product and queried others that have been using the product.
We are now happy to announce we will be rolling this out to all our macOS devices. Over the winter break, your laptop will silently remove Sophos then install JAMF protect. You won’t need to do anything to complete the setup. Just sit back with a nice hot cup of coffee by the fire knowing your laptop is protected.
