In OIT we are always evaluating software that is the best fit for our school. Many factors go into this evaluation by asking some questions like:
– Is it secure?
– Is it easy to use?
– Does it simplify or stream-line a process?
– Can it give students a cohesive experience across all divisions?
We have begun evaluating Canvas which is an learning management system. The cloud-based system offers a robust set of features that will give teachers all the online tools they would need. As an added bonus, Canvas will integrate seamlessly with Veracross. By integrating with Veracross, users will seamlessly login to Canvas without logging in twice and courses and sections will be created automatically in Canvas.
For now we are hosting a Canvas system during the evaluation. All classes from this year are loaded into the system. Users can login with their email address and password at https://lms.da.org.
