We have made some recent updates to the way your laptop manages Apple software updates.
Yes – That is an update to the updater.
The new updater will be now be more interactive. Your computer will still check for updates on a regular basis. When updates are found, they will be scheduled to automatically install in the future (usually around two weeks).
You will now have a weekly prompt that appears at the lower right of your screen. This prompt will timeout in about 20 seconds, but it gives you a chance to see when the updates are scheduled to be installed.
We recommend you run the updates on your own schedule before the date they are scheduled to automatically install. To do this you can click the “Update Now” button on the notification or in Self-Service.
