Mojave 10.14 is Ready to Install – Optional for Now

We have been testing Mojave for a few weeks now and we are now confident it will work well with our various systems at DA.  Mojave adds new security updates, and a few additional features to macOS which are documented here.

As a sysadmin who is accustomed to working with Linux desktop environments, I really love the Dark Mode.  This is a feature that has long been in my UNIX world.

MacOS 10.14.1 is now available for install through Self-Service.  We recommend you upgrade at your own convenience.  The process will take between 45 – 60 minutes and can be done on/off campus. When you upgrade be sure to have your laptop power adapter plugged in, powered on, lid open, and not in use during the upgrade.

Since the new version of macOS adds security fixes that will protect you, we will eventually require you to update your laptop.  For now, you are welcome to upgrade at your own leisure.
