Graduating Seniors

Below will provide guidelines for students that graduate from DA

Laptop

Graduating seniors that have attended DA from 9th-12th grade will be permitted to keep their laptop after graduation and once it has been removed from our management system.

Removing the laptop from our systems requires us to collect the laptop for re-install. Be sure you know how this collection will take place. For questions stop by the Hock Center, create a new support ticket, or ask your advisor.

Before the laptop collection, you will be responsible for backing up your data. OIT will not backup your laptop for you. Once the process for removing your laptop from our management is completed, the laptop will be in an Out-Of-Box state that is just like when it comes new from Apple.

User Accounts

Access to your DA user account will remain available until December 31st of the year you graduate. Seniors will have continue to have access to Email/Microsoft O365 and Google Workspace. This includes most free applications that are connected through your O365 or Google Workspace login.

Other accounts that require a special license like Adobe Creative Cloud will be removed in the summer after graduation.

Graduating Seniors will still be required to keep the password on their account current. Failure to change an expired password will result in the account becoming locked out.

Backup Data

Seniors are responsible for backing up data from their accounts before graduating. Below are some options for backing up each location.

Google Workspace

Google provides a tool named Google Takeout which allows you to download all content from Google Drive or transfer to a personal account.

Office 365

Email: Locate important emails that need to be kept and forward them to a personal email account. OneDrive: Follow this guide to download all files from OneDrive.
