Vendors

Remote Access

Sometimes Durham Academy will work with a vendor to install or maintain a system. When this is the case, the vendor will not be granted unsupervised remote access to the system. This includes remote access protocols like SSH, RDP, VNC, and LogMeIn. If the vendor needs access to a system from remote (off-site), they must coordinate with a staff member on-site to setup a session where the vendor can be supervised.

For example: Vendor X wants to install LogMeIn so they can work on the system from Vendor X headquarters anytime they want to work on the system. This will not be allowed. Vendor X must setup a temporary remote session using a product like WebEx with an employee 's computer that is on site. Vendor X's can then work on their system through the employees computer on the temporary remote access.
